A prepaid plan ends on a date, and the week before it is the cheapest review you will ever run. Three questions, answered with your own logs: did the plan fit, did you use what you paid for, and does the next term match what the loop actually does now. A renewal done this way is a decision; done by default, it is a habit with an invoice.
Re-measure the loop
Pull the numbers for the term that is ending. Requests per second at peak and per day, the share of 429 responses, and how often the pollers actually ran. The plan guide sizes plans by the loop, so the review starts there too: the loop you ran, not the one you planned in the checkout week.
Two findings matter most. If your peak never came near the allowance, you over-bought. If you brushed the ceiling more than once, you under-bought, and the 429 count tells you by how much the schedule outgrew the plan.
Re-check what you used
Plans bundle transports, and unused transports are money left in the cart. If you paid for SSE and the stream sat idle while you polled, the REST-only plan carries the same work for less. If you kept the raw WebSocket add-on for a project that never shipped, the add-on is the first line to drop. The plan guide lists which plans include which transports, checked 2026-10-04, so the comparison takes five minutes.
The opposite finding counts too: a month of wanting drops and polling for them instead is the case for adding the stream, not for renewing the workaround.
Choose the term with the discount math in view
Longer terms cost less per month and are paid up front: three months at up to 16% below monthly billing, six months at up to 24%, per the pricing page, checked 2026-10-04. The add-on has no term discount, so prepaying it longer buys nothing but calendar convenience.
Match the term to the evidence, not the optimism. A loop that ran cleanly for three months has earned a three-month term; a loop you rebuilt twice has earned another month. The discount is real either way; it just prices differently against a loop that might change.
Before the renewal date
Two closing items. The renewal terms for your payment method are shown at checkout, so read them again before the date, because card and crypto terms are listed separately. And any change of plan or term happens in the account panel, where the subscription and billing live.
Measure the term that ended, fit the plan to the loop you actually have, and let the discount follow the evidence. Renewal is the plan decision with the best data you will ever have.
